Wildnest is designed for guests who want to slow down, but there is plenty to explore nearby if you feel like heading out. Depending on where you are staying, guests can enjoy scenic drives, day trips, local dining, hiking, wine tasting, village exploring, birdwatching and time in nearby towns such as Rylstone, Kandos, Mudgee, Lithgow, Bathurst and the surrounding regional areas. We recommend planning ahead, as opening hours and availability can vary in country towns.

Wildnest Farmstay combines the quiet rhythm of a working farm with the comfort of luxury glamping. Guests can enjoy escarpment views, outdoor baths, firelight, wildlife, open skies and the feeling of being immersed in nature without giving up comfort.

Our Farmstay tents are positioned to give guests a sense of privacy, space and connection to the landscape. There is about 60 metres between the two tents and while you may be aware there are other guests on the property, each tent has its own outlook, outdoor bath, and fire pit so you can settle into your own quiet corner of Wildnest. Kookaburra also has a privacy screen so that you can close off to the other tent.

The horses and cows are part of the rural landscape, but they are still animals and should be treated with care and respect. Please do not approach, feed or enter paddocks with livestock unless invited by the Wildnest team. Even friendly animals can behave unpredictably, especially around food, gates or young animals.

No. For guest safety and animal welfare, please do not feed, pat or approach the horses, cows or other livestock unless a Wildnest team member has specifically said it is okay. Feeding animals the wrong food can make them unwell, and we want to keep both guests and animals safe.

For the smoothest arrival, we recommend travelling to Wildnest Wilderness in an AWD or 4WD vehicle. The final part of the journey includes an unsealed country road and access through a working sheep station. Low-clearance vehicles are not suitable, especially in wet weather.

No. Wildnest Wilderness is a rural, off-grid property and the access road is not lit although we have reflector poles, they are not full lights. We strongly recommend arriving during daylight so you can navigate the country track safely and settle in before dark. If you are arriving late, please drive slowly, follow your arrival instructions carefully and bring a torch or headlamp.

Wildnest Farmstay in Capertee Valley is around 2.5 to 3 hours from Sydney via the Blue Mountains. Wildnest Wilderness in Turondale is also around 3 hours from Sydney and around 30 minutes from Bathurst. Travel times can vary depending on your route, traffic and weather conditions.

For Wildnest Farmstay, a standard car is generally suitable in normal conditions. For Wildnest Wilderness, we recommend an AWD or 4WD vehicle because of the unsealed access road and country track conditions.

Mobile reception can be limited and varies depending on your provider, the weather and where you are on the property. Wildnest is designed as a nature-based escape, so we recommend preparing to disconnect and enjoy the slower pace of your stay.

No. EV charging is not currently available at Wildnest. Our properties are nature-based and, in some cases, off-grid, so guests travelling in an electric vehicle should plan their charging stops before arrival. We have a list of charging stations available on our website.

Yes. Wildnest accommodation is designed for year-round country stays, with heating features such as slow combustion fires or other heating depending on the accommodation type. Winter is one of the most beautiful times to stay, but we recommend packing warm layers.

Wildnest Farmstay includes outdoor baths as part of the luxury glamping experience. Wildnest Wilderness glamping accommodation also includes outdoor bathing features. TinyNest does not have an outdoor bath.

Wildnest is designed as a nature-based escape, so there is no Wi-Fi and mobile reception may be limited. We recommend preparing to disconnect and enjoy the slower pace of the property.

Yes. We provide enough firewood for your stay so you can enjoy the slow combustion fire or fire pit during your visit. If you love a fire and plan to use it heavily, we recommend bringing an additional bag of firewood with you. There is also plenty of natural kindling around the property that can be collected during your stay.

Emergency lighting or battery-powered lighting is provided where appropriate, but we also recommend guests bring a torch or headlamp for comfort and safety, especially when walking outside at night.

Winter nights in the country can be very cold, particularly in open valleys and elevated bushland areas. Our stays are designed to be cosy, with heating and warm bedding, but we recommend packing warm layers, socks and comfortable clothing for evenings outdoors.

Yes. The tents are designed with ventilation to allow airflow during warmer months. Country summers can still be warm, so we recommend packing light clothing, keeping doors and openings managed throughout the day, and using the provided fan where available.

During a total fire ban, outdoor fires and fire pits must not be used. Indoor fireplaces may also be subject to restrictions depending on the fire danger conditions and official advice at the time. If a fire ban is in place during your stay, please follow the instructions provided by Wildnest and local authorities. Guest safety and property protection come first.

To help the indoor fire last longer overnight, build a good base of coals before bed, add a larger piece of wood, and reduce the airflow using the circular vents so the fire burns more slowly. Please always use the fireplace safely, keep the door closed, and never leave the fire unattended with the door open.

The kitchen includes pots suitable for preparing simple meals such as pasta, potatoes, vegetables and one-pot dishes. If you are planning a more elaborate meal or cooking for multiple people, we recommend keeping your menu simple or bringing any specific cookware you prefer to use. Please do not bring any high powered appliances such as air fryers.

The small bar sized fridge includes space for keeping food and drinks cold during your stay. There is an ice box but it is not large if you need to store a lot of frozen items.

You can charge small personal devices such as phones, cameras, laptops and tablets. High-wattage appliances such as hair dryers, heaters, electric cooking appliances and EV chargers are not suitable for use inside the tents.

No. To help protect the native wildlife across our properties including kangaroos, wombats and birdlife, pets are not permitted at Wildnest.

Children can stay at TinyNest at Wildnest Wilderness, which sleeps up to four guests and is suitable for small families. The glamping tents are adults-only.

We recommend bringing food and drinks for your stay, warm layers, suitable shoes for walking around the property, and anything you need for a comfortable country escape. For Wildnest Wilderness, it is especially important to arrive prepared, as the property is more remote.
